The advancement of technology has always been a double-edged sword, and artificial intelligence (AI) is no exception. On the one hand, AI holds the promise of revolutionizing how we learn, memorize, and connect subjects of information, making it a fascinating field of study for intellectuals and students around the world. On the other hand, the rapid progress of AI is also a source of concern, as many people appear apathetic and passive regarding the impact of new technology.

As with the invention of the smartphone, many people’s lives could be changed by AI and its related technologies, yet many people still use it for trivial things like memes etc (don’t worry I like a good meme sometimes too!)

This trend is concerning, as it seems like people are being shaped by their technology without offering equal input and reflection. As AI continues to evolve and the popularity of AI-powered apps grows, many lives will be impacted, yet so many remain uninterested or disengaged in what is happening around them.

Comparing the rise of AI to previous technological advancements, such as the advent of Napster and the music industry, the widespread use of the internet in the early 2000s, or the reveal of the iPhone by Steve Jobs in 2007, it is clear that we are on the brink of a major shift in our technological landscape.

Yet, many questions remain unanswered: how will AI ultimately affect work? Will people embrace books co-written by AI? Will people buy AI art from galleries and stores without a second thought? And, perhaps most concerning, will art created by human hands be relegated to the realm of the wealthy and elitist?
